World Church
We try to show love and grace beyond the church family, so for example we give part of our income to charity, we have some of the church familiy who are also Street Pastors, and we have worked for a number of years with the Lalo church in Ethioia in the training and development of ministers.
Wider Church Giving
Each year All Saints gives 10% of the income from the previous year to support home and overseas mission and local, national and international organisations who are working to meet urgent needs. We have developed a booklet that contains details of those to whom money has been allocated for 2013. Also, money is made available each year to support members of our own congregation who are engaging in one-off mission activities. Access to this fund is by application to the vicar. if you would like to find out more about you can see a more detailed explaination of the different organisations here: giving
Uganda: COBAP
COBAP (Community Based AIDS Programme) is a local response to HIV in one of the slum areas in Kampala West District. COBAP seeks to build the capacity of five slum communities in Kampala to enable them to address the effects of HIV and AIDS through the training of community volunteers, life skills education programmes and care and support to people living with HIV and orphans. They aim to do this by enabling young people to make positive life skills choices to reduce their vulnerability to HIV.
Rachel Ellis became part of this project last year and spent time helping to develop a pig farm and manage a pig breeding programme, her initial report is here, and her latest report is here.
